FIDIC (Yellow Book) Engineer:
Checking and approval of Contractor’s design, supervision of construction and installation;
Works, occupational safety, compliance with the EU & national environmental & social requirements, reporting, communication with local partners & the Employer, technical assessment & adjustment of the wastewater & sludge treatment processes including sampling & testing, commissioning of the plant under FIDIC Conditions of Contract & national regulation etc.

Checking and approval of Contractor’s design, supervision of construction and installation;
Works, occupational safety, compliance with the EU & national environmental & social requirements, reporting, communication with local partners & the Employer, technical assessment & adjustment of the wastewater & sludge treatment processes including sampling & testing, commissioning of the plant under FIDIC Conditions of Contract & national regulation etc.

The Project objective was to (i) rehabilitate the water supply system and selected wastewater improvements; (ii) Improve billing and collection efficiency and (iii) improve financial and operational management iii) rehabilitate the infrastructure to reduce water losses and install bulk meters to provide a management tool for leakage detection and control as well as consumer metering in a pilot area.

The assignment was part of the World Bank’s Belarus Water Supply and Sanitation Project, Loan No 7589-BY. The 60 Million USD loan was split to several small components, this one comprising the studies, design, and supervision of works concerned with water supply networks and facilities in Mar’ina Gorka. The town with its 21 000 inhabitants have used of groundwater that was pumped directly to the water supply network without any treatment. Water quality met sanitary standards. The project aimed at modernizing building the new water intake with an iron removal plant, the waterworks’ clean water tanks and booster pumping station, as well as expanding the water supply networks. The Consultant provided: Feasibility study of the iron removal station plant and the necessary network connections (baseline studies, proposed development and feasibility analysis); Topographic, geo-technical, and water quality investigations; Preliminary and detailed designs, technical specifications, and bills of quantities for the bidding documents; Tender support; Construction supervision.

The assignment includes assessment & advice based on international experience in order to ensure the optimal solutions for requirements of the Water and Wastewater sector in the Kyrgyz Republic and recommendations for improved technical design practice for water and wastewater infrastructure including networks and treatment facilities.

Development and modernization of sludge and manure processing lines including detailing plant and machinery, preparation of complete packages of project documents for three Pilot Livestock Farms in Leningrad Region. Management of basic data collection and site visits, coordination of work with local consultant team, reporting, communication with local partners and project international stakeholders. Providing of local specialists’ services.

The overall objective of the EC-funded ISPA Measure 2000/RO/ 16/P/PE/003 was the improvement of environment infrastructure in Constanta & the compliance of treated waste water effluents with national legislation and the EU requirements. Assignment under the Technical Assistance & Supervision contract was to:

1. Provide all the management support to the Employer (Ministry of Public Finance) & Final Beneficiary (Constanta Water Operator, SC RAJA SA) during the implementation of the ISPA Measure.
2. Assist the Final Beneficiary to the development & implementation of the ISPA Measure public awareness and publicity plan.
3. Supervise the following works contracts as FIDIC Engineer, both Yellow & Red: Rehabilitation of Constanta North WWTP – Yellow FIDIC. (185.000 PE-255.000 PE). The component included the construction of a new process unit for the preliminary treatment, the biological treatment of the wastewater and the sludge treatment.

Contract B: Sea outfalls for Constanta North and Eforie South WWTP for the discharge of the effluent – Yellow FIDIC.
Contract C: Constanta Pumping Stations, sewerage network and Constanta South overflows – Yellow FIDIC, with several sections of the contract Red FIDIC. The contract included rehabilitation and modernization of pumping stations and rehabilitation of part of the sewerage network. Contract D: Rehabilitation of Eforie South WWTP – Yellow FIDIC. This works contract included the demolition of the old wastewater treatment plant and construction of a connection pipe and an inlet chamber.
